The sea condition is fairly challenging, and it is precisely this condition that allows us to test the hull’s characteristics without limiting ourselves to simply chasing maximum speed. We start with throttles fully pinned; the response of the two Honda BF350 V8 engines is immediate, and the Scanner Envy 1100 gets on plane with striking speed<\/strong>. In just moments, the speed surpasses 35 knots while the boat maintains a composed and progressive attitude. It is an initial confirmation of how the available 700 overall horsepower is in perfect harmony with a hull designed to deliver high performance.<\/p>

However, the most interesting data comes when we begin pushing the maneuvers. At around 30 knots, we set a tight right turn: the Scanner Envy 1100 leans in decisively but holds its line without hesitation<\/strong>. Even when increasing the throttle further, the boat continues to track through the turn with great precision. The helm feel is that of a very stable and predictable hull. The increase in speed translates primarily into increased centrifugal force without significantly altering the vessel’s behavior. The hard turn to port confirms the exact same impressions: the adrenaline rises, but the feeling of control remains high.<\/p>

A hull that tackles waves without hesitation<\/h3>

Once back on a straight course, the Scanner Envy 1100 crosses its own wake again. Here, another key characteristic of this Maxi RIB<\/a> emerges: the deep V of the hull manages to cleave the water and slice through waves without transmitting harsh jolts on board. At this point, all that remains is to find out how fast the Scanner Envy 1100 can run with the twin Honda BF350 V8s. We pin the throttles again: 45 knots, 50, and finally 52.3 knots<\/strong>. That is the maximum speed recorded during the trial. A result that places the Scanner Envy 1100 squarely in high-performance Maxi RIB territory, but above all demonstrates how much the combination of hull and Honda propulsion was able to deliver in this setup.<\/p>

Our usual acceleration test could not be missed. From a dead stop with throttles fully down, the Scanner Envy 1100 quickly reaches 10 knots, then 20, and 30. In just ten seconds, it reaches 40 knots<\/strong>. The progression is extremely rapid and once again confirms the substantial power reserve offered by the two Honda BF350 engines.<\/p>

Following the dynamic trial, we return to port to inspect the onboard layout up close. The tour starts at the bow, where the Scanner Envy 1100 features a large sunbed designed for total relaxation at sea, which also conceals remarkable versatility. The sunbed can be transformed into a large U-shaped sofa<\/strong>, creating a genuine outdoor lounge area. In the sunbed configuration, it can seat up to three people, while converting it into a sofa makes this area even more usable during anchor stops.<\/p>

Here we find a large swim platform<\/strong> featuring a swallow-tail shape, a solution that greatly facilitates getting in and out of the water.
